Boots N Paddles is ideally placed to offer sea kayaking for novices to find their feet, or more exposed sea conditions for the confident paddler. With a wide choice of excellent venues we can accommodate a range of ages and abilities for either day trips or multi-day expeditions. If you'd prefer to go it alone you can also hire sea kayaks from us (click here to go to find out more about hiring boats from us).
Sit on Top (SOT) Kayaking (Coming soon)
All you need to get started with your sit on top kayak is a paddle and a buoyancy aid and off you go - we can of course provide paddles and buoyancy aids as well. We can tailor a session to suit your group, whether it's playing about on an inland loch or a sheltered harbour, or perhaps exploring a stretch of coastline or playing in the surf. What's different about SOTs? SOTs and more stable than sea kayaks and tourers but are much heavier and less manouevrable; they are also open unlike our other kayaks, so you will get wetter using one of these (You may want to consider wearing a wetsuit when using one). Also, they're not as well suited to touring as our canoes and other kayaks because there are fewer storage options.
* Indicative costs: the activity costs shown are typical of a group of the size shown in the geographical area indicated. Costs may be more or less depending on groups' specific requirements or location of the venue, for example. Add a comment |

We have a small fleet of sit on top (SOT) kayaks for hire and for use as part of group activity bookings. SOTs are fun, safe and easy to use by anyone. Ideal for a loch, beach or calm river they are a great family craft for weekends away and holidays. They are also ideal for group activities, whether that's a group of school children or hen group wanting some fun on the water.
