Businesses opting to join the Green Tourism scheme are assessed by a qualified grading advisor against a rigorous set of criteria, covering a range of areas, like energy and water efficiency, waste management, biodiversity and more. Those businesses that meet the required standard, receive a Bronze, Silver, or Gold award based on their level of achievement. The current network of members is comprised of a wide range of business types, including accommodation providers, visitor attractions, corporate offices and others.

Staff encouraged to drive in a way that will maximise fuel efficiency. * Monitoring office costs for energy consumption and water use. e.g. 'Switch me off labels' positioned strategically, Water Hippo used in staff toilets, Eco Button used on PCs, Eco Kettle purchased for those all important cups of staff tea, waste paper shredded and composted. * Replacing office roof and re-insulating * Using environmentally friendly hand-washes, washing up liquids on expedition * Promoting other 'responsible' providers that we use or list on our website * Promote more environmentally friendly modes of transport to our activities where practical. * Measure and promote customer awareness of our green policies * Core staff attend Leave No Trace Awareness courses
